Chief Reclamation Operator

The City of Corona has an exciting opportunity to join our Utilities Department as a Chief Reclamation Operator. The Utilities Department is comprised of five divisions including Water, Wastewater, Reclaimed Water, Electric and Solid Waste. We provide a 4/10 work schedule (Mon-Thu) for most positions and rotating schedules for operations staff. Education/Training/Experience:

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade
• Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in the process control operation of a water reclamation facility, or a related field, including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
• Possession of a valid California Driver's License, to be maintained throughout employment.
• Possession of a valid California Wastewater Treatment Operator's Certificate, Grade V, to be maintained throughout employment.

• Principles, practices, methods, and techniques used in monitoring, evaluating, planning, and implementing effective plant processes of a traditional tertiary water reclamation facility and a membrane bioreactor water reclamation facility.
• Applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulatory codes, ordinances, and procedures to ensure operational compliance.
• Micro-computer applications related to the work, including Supervisory Control Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA).
• Effectively represent the department and the City in meetings with governmental agencies, community groups, various business, professional, and regulatory organizations, and in meetings with individuals.

The selection process will consist of a review and evaluation of all applicants' qualifications. Those applicants deemed to possess the most desirable qualifications will be invited to participate in the oral interview. The oral interview is tentatively scheduled to take place on April 16, 2024.
