Assistant Controller

Your responsibilities in this role

- Support the accounting team during the closing process to confirm deadlines are met

- Drive accountability and the meeting of deliverables

- Encourage to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, regular assessment, and development

- Backfill for Controller where necessary

- Assist with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

- Guarantee regular account reconciliation to completion

- Set up various technical accounting analyses, procedures, and policies

- Examine and build Ad Hoc financial reports

- Enhanced preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

- Aid implementation and guarantee adherence to accounting policies and procedures

- Detect and prepare process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

- Work on other requests when required

- Come up with relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like key financial metrics, the monthly flash report, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

- Deep technical background in public accounting (GAAP)

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

- Relevant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

- 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience

- Complete understanding of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work

- General ledger experience desired

- Well-founded grasp of month end closings

- Quality experience with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

- Proficiency in journal entries

- Journal Entry Preparation experience highly desired

- Expertise in General Journal

- Practical knowledge of Balance Sheet Account

- General familiarity with year end closings

- Wide ranging experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation

- Journal Entry experience

- Proven knowledge of financial analysis
