MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) using tools such as
    • Issue and Project Tracking Software, e.g. Atlassian JIRA
    • Wiki based collaboration tools, e.g. Confluence
    • git based version control tools and software applications (e.g. Bitbucket, GitLab, GitHub)
    • artifact storage products like JFrog Artifactory
    • DevOps tools such as Jenkins, containerization and docker
    • DevSecOps analysis tools such as Synopsys Coverity, Synopsys CodeDx, and JFrog Xray.
  • Meets DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance requirements, including:
    • CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent
    • Linux OS certification or completion of Linux course from accredited source
  • A problem solver excited to research, troubleshoot, and self-teach new software tools and processes without direct supervision
  • 5+ years technical experience in lieu of degree OR 1+ years technical experience with a technical degree
  • Secret clearance

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience and desire to perform Help Desk / Service Desk duties (e.g., onboarding new team members to the organization, responding to customers for break-fix problems)
  • Experience and a desire to master Kubernetes and F5 Big IP virtual device software
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative environment that embraces Agile, Lean Startup, and pairing methodologies (e.g., Extreme Programming) using the Scrum framework
  • Excellent customer service qualities and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to research, troubleshoot, and self-teach new tools without direct supervision
  • Experience briefing and providing technical demonstrations to leadership
  • Experience building system capabilities in short iterations that allow for accelerated user feedback and product delivery
  • Bachelor's degree focused on technology oriented tools e,g Computer Science, Science, Engineering, or Information Technology
  • TS or TS/SCI clearance

The U.S. Navy's Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) and Scientific Research Corporation (SRC) are teaming together to provide engineering support for a Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) pipeline.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs customization and configuration of various development tools for Navy customers in an accredited AWS-IL4 and IL6 environment
  • Performs account and group administration tasks, and supports users in a Help Desk / Service Desk capacity in a DevOps environment
  • Works in a highly collaborative environment that embraces Agile, Lean Startup, and pairing methodologies (e.g., Extreme Programming) using the Scrum framework
  • Participates in team ceremonies including planning meetings, daily standups, and retrospectives
  • While remote work is possible (up to 1 day per week), the first few months will be spent in the lab mastering the tools and integrating with the team
