Job Title:  Therapeutic Clinical Therapist

Location:  Eagle Butte, SD 57625, USA

Duties:

  • Provide ongoing therapy to special education students currently in treatment as identified by their Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  •  Provide suicide risk assessments as designated by School Supervisor and/or Principals
  • Assist with behavioral evaluations of at-risk students
  • To provide 4-5 days of service per week to Cheyenne-Eagle Butte School and 1 Optional day if needed.
  •  Consultation with the school’s problem solving teams as requested by the Special Education Coordinator/School Supervisor/Principals
  • Provide prompt completion and delivery of services and or evaluations
  • Provide crisis intervention when requested at all levels with each school.
  •  Conduct family therapy sessions as needed or when requested by special education o r g e n e r a l e d u c a t i o n student's family.
  • Consult with Administration and school personnel on student issues/concerns.
  • Provide on-site training to school staff and/or parents on topics related to area of expertise upon request from Special Education Coordinator/School Supervisor.
  • Willing to attend and participate in trainings and workshops requested by Special Education Coordinator/School Supervisor, pending schedule and availability.
  • Provide one-to-one therapy sessions to students.
  • Draft/implement a daily schedule; provide copy to School Supervisor/Principals/ Special Education Coordinator
  • Make leave requests to the School Supervisor and notify Special Education Coordinator/Building Principals.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Certified counselor and/or clinical therapist from the State of South Dakota.
  • Master’s Degree as a School Counselor/Clinical Therapist/Psychologist from an accredited university.
  • should have a minimum of (1) year of experience.
  • The Candidate is well versed in the State of South Dakota and Federal Special Education laws, rules, regulations, and eligibility requirements.
  • The Candidate must have experience working in reservation schools and/or working with Native American students.
  • Experience in a school setting could be either as a counselor, social worker or clinical therapist.
