JOB SUMMARY
Read, interpret, and evaluate x-ray film according to part-specific PEI.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review PEIs to set up x-ray machine.
- Calibrate machine per PEI.
- Load film.
- Position parts on board.
- Shoot X-Ray.
- Remove and change out film.
- Process film.
- Read, interpret and evaluate processed film.
- Communicate with appropriate staff.
- Identify castings as either: good; scrap or rework, ink stamp them accordingly and record results on Inspection Report Sheet.
- Create X-Ray Reader Sheets.
- Punch film with x-ray acceptance punch.
- Move castings to next operation.
- Maintain x-ray area in a clean and orderly manner.
- Ensure X-Ray processing chemicals are maintained.
- Assist Shipping and NDT departments as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience: Experience as X-Ray Operator I
- Certifications/Licenses: Pass X-Ray Operator II tests
- Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Read. Write legibly. Basic computer skills. Good documentation skills. Good interpersonal skills. Good verbal and written communication. Must be able to work in a fast-paced area. Good conflict management skills. Detailed-oriented. Team oriented. Ability to multi-task. Flexible. Self-starter.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Working Environment: Shop Floor.
- Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in.
- Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
- Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
