We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to join our team. As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for overseeing the nursing department and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents while adhering to regulatory standards. This is a leadership role that requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Leadership and Management:*
* Provide strategic leadership to the nursing department, setting clear goals and objectives in alignment with the overall mission and vision of the organization.
* Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure effective and efficient nursing care delivery.
* Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and professional development among nursing staff.
*Patient Care Quality Assurance:*
* Ensure that nursing practices comply with all relevant regulatory requirements, standards of care and best practices.
* Monitor and evaluate patient care outcomes, implementing quality improvement initiatives as needed to enhance patient satisfaction and safety.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement interdisciplinary care plans that promote optimal patient outcomes.
*Staff Recruitment, Training, and Development:*
* Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of nursing personnel, ensuring that staffing levels are appropriate to meet patient care needs.
* Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill enhancement.
* Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to nursing staff, recognizing achievements and addressing areas for improvement.
*Budgeting and Resource Management:*
* Develop and manage the nursing department budget, allocating resources effectively to meet operational goals while controlling costs.
* Monitor and analyze key performance indicators related to nursing productivity, efficiency, and financial performance, implementing strategies to optimize resource utilization.
*Interdepartmental Collaboration:*
* Collaborate with other department heads and administrators to coordinate patient care services, resolve operational issues, and promote interdisciplinary teamwork.
* Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and senior management, communicating departmental needs, challenges, and accomplishments.
*Compliance and Risk Management:*
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and legal obligations related to nursing practice.
* Implement risk management protocols to minimize the occurrence of adverse events and mitigate potential liabilities.
*Regulatory Requirements*
* Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
* Prior experience in nursing leadership or management roles, preferably in a long-term care setting.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of nursing professionals.
