DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The position requires the use of maintenance skills to assist in the district's equipment and fleet management program through repair and maintenance work. Duties include conducting regular vehicle maintenance and providing support to mechanics on larger projects.


The role involves maintaining various vehicles, equipment, fire suppression systems, small engines, and facilities equipment. The employee must be capable of troubleshooting and repairing with minimal supervision once adequately trained. Assignments will come from the maintenance supervisor or forest assistant manager based on the job assignment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Seasonal full-time employment without benefits. The season runs from March through November.
  • Work hours are 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Wednesday; 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Thursday; with 30-minute lunch and Friday Off .
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.


Necessary Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
