School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Arcadia, Louisiana
Job Type: Fulltime, Spring Contract Opportunity
Pay: $40/Hour


We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at a school in Arcadia, Louisiana. The SLP will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to provide comprehensive speech and language services. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a deep understanding of speech and language development, and a commitment to supporting the academic and social success of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' speech and language needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address speech and language disorders.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with communication challenges, both individually and in group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to support students' academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust intervention plans as needed to ensure continued improvement.
  • Provide consultation and support to classroom teachers regarding strategies for facilitating language development and improving communication skills.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of services provided, progress reports, and other required paperwork.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to discuss students' progress, goals, and strategies for supporting speech and language development at home.
  • Stay current on best practices and research in the field of speech-language pathology, and participate in professional development opportunities as required.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Louisiana state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
