POSITION SUMMARY

As a Line Cook, your role is to ensure our guests enjoy a quality dining experience that will allow them to be productive and stay strong when they are away from home. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates knowledge and commitment to company's mission, values and standards of ethical behavior and outstanding customer service both internally and externally.

Complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures.

Preparation of all food items based on standardized recipes for the brand standard hotel dining venue, room service, banquets and any other food and beverage service events.

Ensure food deliveries are timely, accurate and meet presentation standards.

Creatively accommodate special requests from guests.

Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation and safety in the kitchen work and storage areas.

Oversee food cost and portion control without sacrificing quality

Plans meals and assists the Executive Chef or Food & Beverage Manager/Director with various assignments.

Assist with inventory, ordering and receiving of all food and beverage items.

May support general training to all new kitchen staff including new hires and existing staff.

Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving concerns and issues raised by coworkers and/or guests and approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and excellent service-oriented manner.

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working

Maintain proper record keeping according to brand standards and company expectation.

Adheres to regulatory and brand standard and company expectations for compliance items including but not limited to temperature monitoring, food storage procedures, rotation of inventory, proper labeling, departmental training and all associated documentation.

Maintain and follow all local Health Department food preparation codes and regulations.

Maintain working rapport with all hotel staff for efficient operation and service to guests

May assist with ordering and inventory as directed.

Stays abreast of industry trends and regulatory issues; as well as professional standards and makes recommendations on improvement processes.

Communicates information to management timely.

Maintains reference and training material necessary for performing company processes.

Performs other duties as required, including cross training.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Previous food handling or prep/line experience is required. Some locations may require prior cook experience. To be successful in this role, you need strong verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to read, write, type and use basic technology. This job requires you to stand and move around for an entire shift and you also must be able to lift at least 25 pounds. You must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Permit. Applicants must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work morning, evening and weekend shifts.
