Overview:
Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator's primary objective will include establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Safety and Health standards required by OSHA/Regulatory Compliance and our Corporate Policy to assure the highest possible degree of safety for our employees.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provides designated division with the knowledge and tools necessary to be compliant with Pioneers Safety Program.
  • Investigates and responds to employee safety concerns.
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment are operated safely.
  • Serves as internal technical resource for safety-related inquiries.
  • Coordinates accident/near miss investigations and develops corrective action plans for all recordable incidents.
  • Coordinate risk assessment and corrective actions on trending safety incidents.
  • Works with all departments to improve ergonomic conditions.
  • Works with Leadership Teams to maintain a robust safety red card green card program.
  • Performs Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) / hazard assessments to identify and correct workplace hazards.
  • Conducts on-site reviews and audits of operations and facilities, while managing audit compliancy program.
  • Advises and provides solutions to management of safety hazards and compliance issues.
  • Ensures facility has an acceptable system for maintaining all required facility records per OSHA requirements.
  • Organize, facilitate, and ensure safety committee has all the procedures and tools required to be successful at all facility.
  • Facilitates safety training for all new employees.
  • Assists during OSHA inspection.
  • Assists designated Continuous Improvement Teams with the correction of safety hazards during the Kaizen events.
  • Creates internal reports; OSHA logs, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Assists with workers compensation claims when needed.
  • Manages safety training compliancy daily in Pioneer academy.
  • Management of PPE inventory and forecasting safety budgeting.
  • Management of safety contractors and vendors entering the workplace.

Desired Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety or related field with 1-3 years of experience.
  • Prior experience working with Safety programs.
  • Ability to create and maintain a safety culture.
  • Good communication skills with proven results.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 hour course in General Industry and Construction desired
  • Must be friendly, approachable, and lead by example
  • Confidentiality is a must
  • Knowledge of OSHA 1910 Regulations
