Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator's primary objective will include establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Safety and Health standards required by OSHA/Regulatory Compliance and our Corporate Policy to assure the highest possible degree of safety for our employees.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Provides designated division with the knowledge and tools necessary to be compliant with Pioneers Safety Program.
- Investigates and responds to employee safety concerns.
- Ensure all machinery and equipment are operated safely.
- Serves as internal technical resource for safety-related inquiries.
- Coordinates accident/near miss investigations and develops corrective action plans for all recordable incidents.
- Coordinate risk assessment and corrective actions on trending safety incidents.
- Works with all departments to improve ergonomic conditions.
- Works with Leadership Teams to maintain a robust safety red card green card program.
- Performs Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) / hazard assessments to identify and correct workplace hazards.
- Conducts on-site reviews and audits of operations and facilities, while managing audit compliancy program.
- Advises and provides solutions to management of safety hazards and compliance issues.
- Ensures facility has an acceptable system for maintaining all required facility records per OSHA requirements.
- Organize, facilitate, and ensure safety committee has all the procedures and tools required to be successful at all facility.
- Facilitates safety training for all new employees.
- Assists during OSHA inspection.
- Assists designated Continuous Improvement Teams with the correction of safety hazards during the Kaizen events.
- Creates internal reports; OSHA logs, weekly and monthly reports.
- Assists with workers compensation claims when needed.
- Manages safety training compliancy daily in Pioneer academy.
- Management of PPE inventory and forecasting safety budgeting.
- Management of safety contractors and vendors entering the workplace.
Desired Education/Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety or related field with 1-3 years of experience.
- Prior experience working with Safety programs.
- Ability to create and maintain a safety culture.
- Good communication skills with proven results.
- Ability to work independently.
- OSHA 10 or 30 hour course in General Industry and Construction desired
- Must be friendly, approachable, and lead by example
- Confidentiality is a must
- Knowledge of OSHA 1910 Regulations
