The Department of Human Services is seeking a Staff Psychiatrist to be responsible for all aspects of psychiatric care and treatment of assigned patients at Warren State Hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Staff Psychiatrist, you will perform formal psychiatric assessments and review all psychiatric diagnoses, perform psychiatric reviews of patients and documents, review medication and make adjustments and/or changes to ensure proper psychopharmacological treatment is applied to each individual patient, and perform competency evaluations. In this role, you will lead the treatment team and oversee the planning and implementation of the individual treatment plan for each patient and ensure appropriate documentation. You will also provide leadership with interdisciplinary staff in assuring that active treatment programs are being conducted daily, review and evaluate discharge planning, and document patient's progress toward community placement.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.
  • Possible evening, weekend, and holiday on-call
  • Overtime and travel: As needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:

  • Completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

Special Requirement:

  • You must possess a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.

Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
