JOB TITLE: Manager, Compensation (Global)

JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Compensation manages and leads the administration of Global Compensation programs for Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies in the areas of value creation, cost management, compliance risk mitigation and to attract, motivate, develop, reward, and retain of key talent. This role encourages a constructive dialogue amongst Global Human Resources and other business functions in the alignment of global compensation programs with business objectives, as well as to champion the implementation, administration and management of more concentrated tools and processes for sustaining and measuring value.

This role is responsible for providing managerial support in the design, development, implementation, project management, analysis, and administration of global compensation programs, policies, and procedures; works closely with Human Resources Business Partners on determining classifications and pay levels for positions; ensures country/state/local, collective bargaining and work council regulatory laws and rule compliance, internal equity and external competitiveness; leads key compensation cycles, studies, and projects; creates reports and maintains data to monitor global compensation activity; and manages various global salary surveys and other data exchanges to support compensation analyses. In addition, the role uses expert knowledge of compensation theory and practice and will provide subject-matter expertise and lead analytical support in broader areas of Global Total Rewards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and lead the administration of global compensation structures for all countries.
  • Manager/Lead the administration of global compensation programs, including annual compensation program review; annual salary review process; benchmarking of roles; maintaining and updating position descriptions.
  • Develop and modify salary structures and guidelines.
  • Prepare total compensation recommendations for senior management/leadership and executive levels.
  • Lead and/or conduct research, analysis and recommendations for new and revised plans and programs that are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and align with objectives.
  • Manage/Lead the administration of performing job evaluations, market job pricing, internal equity analyses, impact analysis, and plan effectiveness analyses.
  • Lead and/or participate in and analyzes compensation surveys to ensure compensation objectives are achieved.
  • Lead and/or conduct analyses related to cost and trends and providing analytical data management support for measurement and tracking of key compensation metrics. Develop techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data to senior management/leadership.
  • Manage/Leas the annual salary budget process, providing country and associate group merit increases and promotion.
  • Manage/Lead the design and administration of short and long-term incentive plans.
  • Manage process documentation and ensure standardization and automation where possible.
  • Manage/Lead Global Compensation Team and provide guidance for professional development. Manage workload of assignments to ensure deadlines are met and that team members develop a breath of knowledge and experience in multiple programs.
  • Operate as a member of the Global Total Rewards (Compensation, Health & Wellness, Mobility, and HRIS) Team and provide contributions to all areas, as appropriate.
  • Provide support to streamline, simplify and ensure operational excellence in the execution of Global Total Rewards programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered. Preferred certification designation: Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and/or Certified Global Remuneration Professional (GRP) and/or Professional Human Resources (PHR) Certification designation.

Experience

Minimum 7 years' experience with 1-year supervisory experience.

Skills

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing broad-based global compensation programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and leveraging cross functional relationships with Human Resources, Finance and Legal.
  • Skilled knowledge of global compensation plans, laws, and regulations to include FLSA, EEO, 409A, and other wage and hour rules and regulations.
  • Advanced skill and working knowledge with HR/Payroll and Microsoft Office software applications, preferably with the SuccessFactors suite and salary planning platforms and tools.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Strong customer service presence and focus.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong process improvement and project management capability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated presentation/facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large quantities of data.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change while consistently meeting strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to use good judgement and discretion with highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to attend calls to accommodate international time zones.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively both independently and as an integral member of various teams.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical Office Environment requirements include reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting to 20 pounds. Ability to travel up to 25%.

Target Pay Range:$117,100.00to$146,400.00 -Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:15.0%
