Equipment Operator, ACE

The Levy Group of Companies is seeking Asphalt Operators and Laborers to work at our Ace Saginaw Paving, Saginaw, MI locations. Qualified candidates will rake, shovel and operate paving and rolling equipment.

* Equipment operator trainees

* Roller Operator - must have at least 5 years experience (CDL is a plus)

* Prep Crew Operators - some equipment operation experience necessary (CDL is a required)

* Laborer (CDL is a plus)

Responsibilities

The Operator will:

• Shovel asphalt for patching and or paving crew
• Performing daily machine inspections and routine greasing, oiling, and fueling
• Communicating with office and field personnel
• Inspect grade and elevations correctly
• Assisting maintenance personnel with repairs
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

• Ability to operate grader, roller, and loader
• Knowledge of materials
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand or walk for an extended period of time
• Work outside for an extended period of time
• Ability to communicate well with co-workers, customers, and other departments
• Ability to read and write
• Valid CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain one
