KROC CENTER MISSION

SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Recreation Attendant will be responsible for overseeing members and guests as they participate in fitness and sports programs and activities in the fitness center and gymnasium. The Recreation Attendant will be primarily responsible for ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and dedicated customer service of the fitness and sports areas. Current openings are for our evening and weekend shifts from 4PM- Close and 6AM-12PM/12PM-6PM Saturdays.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Proactively ensure a safe recreation environment for all Kroc Center staff, volunteers, members and participants, enforce all safety and other rules and regulations, and utilize systems to safeguard facilities, supplies, and equipment.
  2. Project a friendly, customer-service oriented attitude, serving as an ambassador for the customer-focused initiatives of the Kroc and actively interacting with members and guests.
  3. Answer basic fitness, sports, and facility-related questions and aid members and guests as necessary.
  4. Provide / assist with equipment setup and tear down for programs, and assist with providing orientations and tours.
  5. Utilize systems for timely and accurate record keeping, including statistical reports and other areas as directed.
  6. Ensure the attractive appearance, operational function, and general upkeep of the fitness and sports facilities including equipment and furnishings, and complete cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks in the fitness center and gymnasium.
  7. Support promotional strategies to increase fitness programs attendance and revenue.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Must be at least 18 years old

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience working with youth and adults in a sports and/or recreation setting.

- OR -

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: First Aid, CPR and AED Certification for Adult, Child, and Infant within 90 days of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule.

This position requires the employee be available to work days, weeknights, weekends, and holidays as required.

We are looking for energetic, fun, and kid-loving people who love jumping, twisting, and flipping through challenging obstacle courses! Martial Arts/Parkour/Tumbling experience is a plus but willing to train for the right fit. Classes focus on skills related to coordination, agility, strength, and speed for a unique sports experience. This is a part-time position with up to 18 hours per week. Must be available evenings as needed.

Participants will learn Parkour skills, putting them into action, while learning to work with others in the class and challenging themselves safely outside their comfort zone.

  1. Ensure the attractive appearance, operational function, and general upkeep of the equipment and furnishings.
  1. In conjunction with the facilities department, establish an on-going preventative maintenance program for the Parkour equipment.
  1. Assist in the preparation of progress reports, records, invoices, collections, and evaluations.
  1. Assist in the development of programs and promotional strategies to increase athletic programs attendance and revenue.
  1. Participate in designated staff training and professional development courses, as well as staff meetings, as directed by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred.
  • One year experience in Parkour, or related teaching experience

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: First Aid, CPR and AED Certification for Adult, Child, and Infant. A valid Wisconsin Driver's license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army's insurance carrier is preferred.
