Job Description
Snelling is searching for exceptional Welders for a well-established company in the Trussville, AL area. The starting pay for these positions is $22.00-26.00/hr. Apply Today with Confidence!
Key Tasks and Responsibilities for Welders:
- Responsible for setting appropriate welding machine parameters for the material being welded.
- Responsible for making welds to meet print specifications.
- Responsible for producing strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent.
- Follows required procedures and uses appropriate fixtures to assist in the assembly process.
- The basic operation of the robotic weld cell as assigned.
- Verifies conformance of finished parts to print specifications and quality standards.
- Responsible for properly using and maintaining tools, fixtures, and machines.
Experience and Skills Needed for Welders:
- 3+ years of welding experience is a must!
- Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead with a good penetration and a quality weld.
- Ability to operate acetylene torches.
- Math skills including metric system and angles.
- Ability to read tape measures and angle finders.
- Ability to read blueprint drawings and AWS weld symbols.
- Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Physical ability to weld in awkward positions such as kneeling or lying down.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
