Who We Need
To support our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead the Accounting and Financial Reporting function of a multi-entity portfolio. Areas of focus include GAAP accounting and monthly close, debt management and compliance reporting, treasury, cash flow forecasting and budgeting. The ideal candidate will be a success driven team player who can successfully partner with our Property Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable teams in the production of timely and accurate financial statements, reports and analyses.
Company is a close-knit team of A-players. This position is an opportunity for the right person to establish efficiencies and best practices enterprise-wide, with the potential for growth of the function over time.
Description of Responsibilities
  • Provide accounting leadership to the Company’s monthly accounting and internal/external reporting functions.
  • Manage the treasury function, including monitoring cash daily, completing book transfers, and preparing wire templates.
  • Prepare all entries for payroll related activities to record bi-weekly payroll, bonus accruals, and property allocations.
  • Manage debt activity including maintaining debt/interest roll forwards, scheduled principle/interest payments, and preparing/monitoring construction loan draws.
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the Company’s annual financial close and coordinate multiple annual financial statement audits.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and footnotes, quarterly debt compliance certifications and other reporting obligations.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely preparation and distribution of other periodic financial reports and analyses to the Company’s management, ownership, and business partners.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos to document real estate specific transactions, financing activity, acquisitions/dispositions, and possess a strong knowledge of the new leasing standard (ASC 842).
  • Participate in the annual budget process and provide supporting schedules for payroll, interest, and intercompany agreements.
  • Provide indirect oversight and leadership to accounting team members.
  • Maintain, monitor and enhance Company-wide internal control policies and procedures.
  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support as needed and participation in projects as assigned.
  • Communicate regularly with management and various business unit members.
  • Provide effective support to the VP of Accounting.
Position Requirements and Desired Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting; CPA designation required
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive accounting related experience in an expanding real estate environment; Big Four and public company and/or data center experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent communicator, confidently articulating complex analysis and solutions
  • Detail-oriented problem solver, working towards meaningful solutions
  • Experience working independently as well as collaboratively; effectively managing priorities while meeting hard deadlines
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with ease
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, initiative taker
  • Highest ethical and professional conduct and integrity
