Salary:

Frontier Cooperative is seeking an Ag Equipment Operator  for our Auburn, NE location & surrounding area.  As an Ag Equipment Operator, you perform the custom application of fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides with dry and/or liquid machines for our patrons.  Training is provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:   

  • Spray & apply Crop Protection products such as pesticides and fertilizers by operating various agriculture vehicles & equipment. 
  • Requires mixing, loading, and application of crop production products/plant Nutritionals. 
  • Mixes, handles, loads, & delivers bulk and packaged materials, seed & other agriculture products. 
  • Maintain accurate records & logbooks. 
  • Handles and delivers agricultural inputs to customers and field application equipment. 
  • Perform regular maintenance, calibration & inspections on application equipment, machinery, & vehicles.
  • Provide Inventory Management Support by monitoring bulk tank inventories, agronomy & energy division inventories by performing physical counts regularly.  
  • Participates in continuing education for maintaining pesticide applicator license & other licenses, as needed.  

SKILLS NEEDED for SUCCESS in this ROLE: 

  • Applicator & Pesticide license is required, or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable amount of time.  
  • Mechanical inclination with basic knowledge of agricultural pesticides & weed identification. 
  • Communication & interpersonal skills including the ability to think clearly & problem-solve. 
  • The desire to be involved in agriculture & work for a cooperative. 
  • Excellent driving record & ability to operate farm equipment & various heavy machinery. 
  • Possess the ability to accurately read field & plat maps. 
  • Ability to work without direct supervision & uphold professional competence to safety. 

Physical Demands of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:  

  • The work environment for this position is typical indoor & outdoor settings, working in all types of weather conditions, with exposure to outdoor elements, grain dust & chemicals. 
  • This position requires an ability to lift up to 75 lbs on occasion, sit, stand, kneel, squat, stoop, walk, run, jog, climb higher heights, crawl, scoot, bend, reach, extend, etc. for various time periods throughout the day.  
  • When working outdoors and possibly around moving equipment/mechanical parts, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations, and the risk of electrical shock.
