Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network has Licensed Counselor positions open in various units.

As a Licensed Therapist, you'll conduct independent assessment and interventions based on treatment plans and consumer needs.

The primary function of these positions is to provide therapeutic mental health services primarily to youth, adults, and families in accordance with best-practice standards, evidence-based interventions and individualized recovery planning. Therapies might include, but are not limited to, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Exemplary communication skills are necessary to interface with individuals served, accurately document service provision, and work with community partners as part of linking families to other needed resources. These positions will have the opportunity to participate in and/or lead community education, engagement and outreach events and programming (i.e. groups, workshops, classes, courses). Other responsibilities include consultation with staff as needed one-on-one or in small groups. The Counselor may participate in strategic or program planning for delivery of behavioral health services by program.

Counselor – LPC Veterans One Stop

This Licensed clinician will provide clinically appropriate therapeutic interventions based on best practices to service members, veterans, and family members at the Veterans One Stop.

Counselor- CTC/Diversion Center

Counselors for the CTC work with the crisis team to maintain a therapeutic environment for clients under 24-hour care. Duties include performing crisis and substance abuse counseling, developing plans for treatment and discharge, and providing individual and group therapy.

Counselor- TCOOMMI- Texas Correctional Office on Offenders with Medical and Mental Impairments

Counselors are responsible for completing clinical assessments to determine program eligibility or referral to appropriate resources. Provides recovery-oriented case management services to adult mental health consumers. Coordinates services with Parole and Probation (Community Supervision and Corrections Department) and works closely with other community agencies to link clients to needed services.

Counselor- Integrated Health (Regional Offices)

Counselor will provide short-term counseling and skills training services to patients and their families in rural integrated health settings, provides care coordination, system navigation, crisis intervention, and community resource linkage and referrals for individuals served and works with interdisciplinary team to coordinate both behavioral and physical health care in rural primary care settings.

 

Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network strives to develop and equip all staff with Trauma-Informed Care knowledge and competency-based skills. Trauma-Informed Care means treating the person, considering past trauma and the resulting coping mechanisms when attempting to understand behaviors. Our goal is to provide effective treatment as well as improving the quality and impact of care.

Salary: $64,000

The Center was renamed Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network (doing business as the Heart of Texas Region MHMR Center) in December 2021 in a rebranding action approved by the Center's Board of Trustees. The Center also earned Texas Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) status in December, 2021.

The Center employs around 511 full and part-time staff and is governed by a nine member Board of Trustees appointed by county commissioners.
