Job Summary:

 

Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall care of clients. Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all clients.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Conducts an individualized client assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the client’s immediate condition or needs within the timeframe specified by client facility’s policies, procedures, or protocols.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments as determined by client’s condition and/or the client facility’s policies, procedures or protocols and reprioritizes care accordingly.
  • Develops a plan of care that is individualized for the client reflecting collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.
  • Performs appropriate treatments as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Performs therapeutic nursing interventions as established by individualized plan of care for the client and his/her family.
  • Delivers care with appropriate age and cultural competence to specific client populations according to individualized needs.
  • Provides individualized client/family education customized to the client and his/her family.
  • Documents client assessment findings, physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution.
  • Initiates emergency resuscitative measures according to adult resuscitation protocols.
  • Maintains confidentiality in matters related to client, family, and client facility staff.
  • Provides care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the client’s and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Reports client condition to appropriate personnel during each shift.
  • Administer medicine and treatment to clients per provider orders
  • Performs waive testing on admission and as ordered by providers
  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Direct and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants
  • Maintains current competency in nursing specialty by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications.

 

 

Competencies:

 

The work consists of the practical application of a variety of healthcare concepts, practices and specialized techniques relating to nursing management. Assignments typically involve evaluation and interpretation of factors, conditions, or unusual circumstances, inspecting, obtaining urine specimen, Suicide Risk & Prevention or evaluating compliance with established standards or criteria.

 

Personal Protective Equipment:

 

Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

 

Required License(s)/Certification(s):

 

  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the State Board of Nursing in State in which site is located or licensed in a compact licensure state provides a multistate license that allows nurses to practice with patients across state lines.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date

 

Education and Experience:

 

· Degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

· One year experience of professional work as an RN is desirable

· Previous substance abuse treatment and/or primary care experience strongly preferred

· Maintain continuing education requirements as required by licensing board
