Residential Construction Estimator

AVB is currently seeking a Residential Construction Estimator.

The Estimator is responsible for preparing and estimating budget costs for new home construction by studying plans and specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Estimate and purchase all residential portfolio products
• Estimate time, labor, construction materials, and product costs to calculate overall cost for each project
• Coordinate the subcontractor bid process
• Assist Sales with PCA & sales pricing
• Create job templates in BuilderTrend and transfer budget information to Sage database
• Issue purchase orders, generate rebates, and process invoices
• Address and resolve subcontractor and Project Manager questions/concerns regarding budgets and purchase orders
• Produce COR pricing alongside Selections for all products & process approved change orders
• Maintain clean budgets for ease of job reconciliation
• Purchase materials and labor competitively
• Compile and maintain unit price database
• Facilitate new product and trade base developments
• Monitor supply chain trends and report suggested actions

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, architecture or related preferred
• Minimum of 3 years’ field experience in residential construction industry
• Construction management or new home construction estimating experience preferred
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with project team and stakeholders
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel), Bluebeam, and Builder Trend
• Strong analytical, organization and time management skills
• Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal skills

Salary is commensurate based on experience.
