Director of Technical Services - Full-time

As Director of Technical Services, you are responsible for supporting various aspects of the development and construction of renewable (Wind/Solar) and energy storage (BESS) projects in the US and Canada from site evaluation , layout, through contracting, legal and financial closings with construction support as needed. Projects vary in size from 100 MWac to 500 MWac.

Job Description

• Direct activities for multiple projects with capital budgets in excess of $100M each including managing preconstruction consulting support to the development teams
•  Lead the preparation of technical packages for equipment supply and construction services for the RFP process.
•  Lead in the recruitment, hiring and training of the Technical Services personnel
•  Lead the Root Cause Analysis to accurately determine failure modes.
• Develop and present the organization's project, capital and operating expense budgets for all all projects in preconstruction
• Responsible for the Safety and Environmental compliance of the organization's personnel and subcontractors in accordance with federal, state and local laws, and company policies
•  Represent company within the industry (presentations to trade groups/advisor to industry boards)

Required Skills and Competencies

• BS degree in Engineering or related discipline. MS or PE a plus
• 10 - 15 years' exp in renewable energy projects (engineering and construction)l managing multiple       large utility scale energy projects and negotiating 3rd party contracts.
• Ability to travel 10% - 25% (domestic and international)
• Working understanding of cost accounting, budgeting and contract implementation.
• Ability to climb vertical ladders up to 300 feet
• Project management tools (MS Project, Primavera)
•  Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
