The Jewish Board’s Community Behavioral Health treatment programs provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based services to individuals and families in the communities we serve. Our staff use a culturally affirming, person-centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resiliency of our communities.

 

The Social Worker will provide culturally competent and sensitive clinical care in an OMH licensed outpatient PROS Program. This program treats individuals across the developmental spectrum who presents with behavioral health issues. The interventions include: evaluations; individual, group and/or family therapy; case management; and crisis interventions.

 

Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate in the continuing interdisciplinary evaluation of individual clients for the purpose of beginning, monitoring and providing culturally competent therapy to clients.
  • Individualize and understand the needs of the client and the client’s family or support network in relation to each other.
  • Identify appropriate treatment or service providers and facilitate client referrals to internal and external and/or linkage program.
  • Perform individual or group psychotherapy; long or short term depending on client's need and diagnosis.
  • Establish client goals and assess the client’s success in meeting those goals.  To continue changes or recommend changes in treatment strategy depending on ongoing client assessment.
  • May run specialized groups.
  • Provides all necessary notes, progress notes, written assessments and other paperwork as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in counseling, creative arts, or social work from an accredited program AND a New York State License or limited permit in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC); Creative Arts Therapy (LCAT), or social work (LMSW) required.
