Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates heavy equipment safely to apply tack according to paving specifications.
• Prepares distributor and continuously monitors performance to achieve the required specifications for paving.
• Works closely with other crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that distributor is in safe, proper working order, including fluid checks and adequate lubrication.
• Reports to shop when distributor needs maintenance and repair.
• Keeps equipment clean and prepares equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
• Maintains orderliness, cleanliness, and safety at the job site.
• Follows Supervisor's instructions closely.
• Travel may be required to the southern parts of Minnesota, eastern parts of South Dakota, as well as northern Iowa
• 60-70 hours per week- Monday through Friday, some Saturdays NEVER work a Sunday!

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• CDL A with tanker and hazmat endorsements
• Current DOT health card
• Understand the basics of distributor mechanicals.
• Understand and adhere to all safety regulations.
• Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
• An unwavering focus on safety.
• MSHA | OSHA
• Willingness to travel throughout Central and Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and Eastern Dakotas.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly work extended | overtime hours outdoors and in various weather conditions at all project locations.
• Travel is required.
