Division Summary: MITRE’s Corporate IT Division is seeking a Cloud Software Operations team member as part of the team working to successfully migrate applications to the cloud for some of MITRE’s most critical corporate IT initiatives. This exciting cloud operations opportunity crosses multiple domains within the IT profession and involves collaboration across the corporate IT Division and with the greater MITRE community to ensure appropriate re-architecture and optimization of our critical IT Products. The Programs and Projects enabling MITRE’s Intelligent Enterprise Strategy represent large, complex, and rewarding cloud strategy with high visibility and potential across MITRE.

Job Description:

Act as a champion of Site Reliability Engineering principles.
Utilize cloud-native and 3rd party integrated tools or services to monitor and maintain cloud services.
Specialize in cloud scalability technologies and methodologies to assist application deployment.
Drive continuous improvement through blameless incident management.
Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and support teams to analyze, identify, and improve cloud application deployments.
Develop and implement processes and solutions to provide stability for cloud applications and workloads.
Provide training and mentorship to the Development support team on operationalizing cloud workloads.

Basic Qualifications:

At least 8 years of experience in cloud computing and/or cloud app development
At least 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering
Knowledge in Azure operational services including Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, Azure Recovery Services, Azure Security Center, Azure Policy, and Azure Blueprints
Knowledge of Azure architecture, services, and features, such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Azure CosmosDB
Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash
Familiarity with configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Chef, and Puppet
Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools, such as Terraform, ARM templates, and Bicep.
Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools, such as GitLab and Azure DevOps
Familiarity with agile methodologies and practices, such as Scrum and Kanban
Certification in Azure Administrator Associate or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert as applicable
Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.
B.S., Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred experience in using Azure cognitive services, machine learning, or other AI/ML technologies a plus.
Preferred experience with Machine Language and Generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT, others)
Preferred experience with other cloud providers, AWS or GCP
Preferred Secret clearance.
