Manager of Technical Services


The Manager of Technical Services is a key leadership role accountable for overseeing the coordination of technical and facility services across multiple dialysis clinics in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This position requires extensive expertise and a high degree of judgment to effectively address challenges within the context of established policies and practices.

Essential Functions:

  1. Maintains in-depth knowledge of AAMI Guidelines, State-specific, and Federal Medicare Regulations, and collaborates with facility staff to implement these regulations in new, acquired, managed, and existing facilities.
  2. Continuously updates knowledge of State and Federal regulations relevant to dialysis clinic operations.
  3. Ensures compliance with established technical policies and procedures across all facilities.
  4. Conducts technical audits in facilities to assess compliance with various regulatory requirements (Federal, State, OSHA, FDA, AAMI, etc.).
  5. Assists in developing technical related Plan of Corrections for internal and external audits/surveys.
  6. Participates in State/Federal surveys and audits. (Such as CMS, Life Safety, OSHA, DHEC, etc.)
  7. Implements company technical policies and procedures consistently across new, acquired, managed, and existing facilities.
  8. Serves as a technical resource for both technical and clinical staff.
  9. Participates in the orientation, initial training, and ongoing training of facility technical employees to ensure timely and thorough training.
  10. Coordinates and ensures the utilization of appropriate resources to maintain technical compliance during FTM vacancies.
  11. Assists in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of medical equipment (e.g., Reverse Osmosis, Dialysis machines, EMR systems, etc.).
  12. Assists and coordinates in troubleshooting and executing necessary repairs related to Physical Plant issues and Plan of Corrections.
  13. Provides guidance and resources to the FTM for managing and fulfilling responsibilities related to inventories.
  14. Participates in scheduled meetings, committees, and improvement projects to enhance the overall effectiveness of Technical Operations
  15. Monitors, tracks, and completes reports related to semi-annual AAMI water testing, Monthly TQM reports, Monthly Inventory reports, and any new reporting requirements as they arise.
  16. Maintains effective working relationships and utilizes strong communication skills with ARA/IRC staff, team members, RVPs, and Medical Directors.
  17. Supports other projects as requested by IRC managers.
  18. Ensures strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  19. Collaborates with the legal team when necessary to establish contracts with vendors, and assists in setting up DeNovo facilities, expansions, and acquisitions in accordance with standard policies, procedures and current approved templates. Also responsible for ordering supplies and initializing validation processes for these facilities.
  20. Regularly reviews and monitors technical operation costs.
  21. Actively participates in scheduled integration meetings.
  22. Completes and submits corporate technical reports and quarterly compliance reports.
  23. Communicates collaboratively and effectively with Clinic Managers, Medical Directors, Regional Vice Presidents, Director of Technical Services, Vice President of Technical Services and other relevant parties regarding technical operations and technical related issues.
  24. Collaborates with Regional Vice Presidents, Director of Technical Services, Project Management, and Vice President of Technical Services on supplies and cost analysis.
  25. Reviews and monitors equipment repair costs for all locations within the assigned region. Vigilantly tracks parts expenses and implements strategies to reduce spending on parts where possible, while maintaining a steadfast commitment to ensuring safe patient treatments are provided.
  26. Provides guidance and technical expertise in the recruiting, hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes of technical staff, as requested. All hiring decisions must be approved at the local facility level. Any disciplinary actions must be communicated to the Director of Technical Services and the Vice President of Technical Services.
  27. Supports additional tasks and projects as needed.

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work & Travel:

This is a Full-Time, remote position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., though at times flexibility is required per business need. Some travel as needed is expected for this position and can vary depending upon facility and Technical Service’s needs. Travel may be outside the local area and overnight.

Required Education and Experience:

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Minimum of 2-4 years of technical and management experience in dialysis. Experience must include dialysis machine maintenance, water treatment systems and associated regulations.

- Minimum of 4-6 years of Supervisory experience preferred.

- Familiarity with dialysis survey process.

- Basic computer skills.
