General Manager

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. is searching for a General Manager to join its team at its Negaunee, MI, location. We strive to meet the needs of many industries including construction, mining, aggregate, forestry, scrap, demolition, industrial, municipal, utility, and attachment markets. Providing outstanding parts and service support of new and used mining and construction equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, safety, and profitability. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing and leading a successful team of employees, building the branch's profitability, and creating exceptional customer relationships that continue to keep Road Machinery & Supplies Co. the dealer of choice.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operation of our Negaunee, Michigan facility and region.
• Ensure RMS Michigan maintains an excellent level of product support.
• Manage direct reports and maintain a positive relationship with all branch employees.
• Area strategy, goals, and direction.
• Area P&L and budget oversight.
• Ensure a good working relationship with all our suppliers.
• Assist in negotiating machine sales, parts pricing and service quotes.
• Maintain an excellent working relationship and knowledge of our customer base.
• Incremental growth.
• Branch market share.
• Make sure the staff has adequate equipment & tools to make their job safe and productive.
• Compliance of all required MSHA and OSHA rules, regulations policies and procedures including any Federal and State employment laws affecting staff personnel, company vehicles and places of occupancy.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Experience – 10+ years in mining, heavy mobile equipment, or construction industry related positions.
• Qualities: Possess strong Management/Leadership skills. Excellent communication habits. A drive and ability to develop strong relationships.
• Knowledge Base: Heavy mobile equipment maintenance and operation; In-plant processing systems and components
• Skills: Proficient w/ computer: MS Office 365, CDK (ERP)
• Able to work responsibly, safely, and intelligently.
• Have the desire to take action, improve, and be appreciative.
• Possess the capability to engage with customers, co-workers, and vendors in a respectful manner.
