DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

Schaefer's Cutting Department uses industry leading bending technology to form laser cut parts for electrical enclosure fabrication. The Bending Department houses a fully automated bending work center adapted for high volume versatility, supplemented with a range of CNC press brakes, to achieve Schaefer's signature customization. Schaefer's consistent-paced high-energy work environment is built around a culture of employee-centered development, team focused engagement, and lean manufacturing principles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Correctly select specific product folder tooling.
• Program, operate, and adjust CNC controls.
• Read and interpret production drawings and other engineering aids.
• Use precision measurement tools to check for dimensional part accuracy.
• Make routine decisions and use analytical strategies to solve nonconformance issues.
• Perform assigned work within time standards and quality expectations.
• Account for time and work completed through labor reporting system.
• Report and document basic material, production, and quality control issues.
• Conduct and document operator preventive maintenance as scheduled.
• Report and document equipment malfunction to the Maintenance Department and direct supervisor.
• Work overtime, as needed, to meet departmental production demands.

EXPERIENCE:

• Folder / Press Brake Operator: 1 year (Preferred)
• Manufacturing experience: 1 year (Required)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Physical effort equal to frequent lifting, stooping, bending, or moving of materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
