GAB-Lab Analyst Trainee

Job Description:

• Perform basic standardized laboratory tests involving the chemical and physical analysis of various samples ranging from raw ore to finished products including items purchased by the company.
• Process basic math including simple addition/subtraction with decimals and dealing with fractions.
• Requires routine lifting of 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds for distances up to 50 feet.
• Requires routinely standing and twisting up to 8 hours a day. High percentage of day requires repetitive motion, with fine motor skills.
• Work conditions include exposure to unpleasant odors, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise levels. There is risk of exposure to hazardous fumes, acids and alkaline.
• Ability to wear respiratory protection or other safety equipment, as required including foot, eye, and hearing protection.
• All work described above to be done in an efficient and workman like manner. Responsible for the housekeeping and clean-up of the laboratory.
• Attendance for this job is crucial for any successful candidate.
• Successful candidates will have prior lab experience preferred but not required.
• This job is also subject to duties as assigned by management.

Note: In no case will your bid be considered if you have not already completed six (6) months continuous service. If an employee disqualifies himself or is disqualified from a bid job, he/she will be unable to bid again on that job classification for eighteen months (18) months.
