Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
  • Under the supervision of the Cardio-Pulmonary manager, the Licensed Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician’s orders, and department policies and procedures. 
  • The Licensed Respiratory Therapist manages and provides care to patients via the nursing process, therapeutic environment, treatment modalities and inter-disciplinary collaboration.

 Responsibilities:
  • Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychological and cognitive status.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of oxygen concentrations and medication doses as they relate to patients of varying ages, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.
  • Formulates a goal directed plan of care which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes.
  • The Licensed Respiratory Therapist reports directly to the Cardio-Pulmonary Manager.

Mental:              
  • Astute communication skills with employees, physicians, visitors, administration and public.  Ability to adjust to job situations that involve many different people and projects, requiring some independent action and judgment.

Physical:         
  • Must have the ability and competency to operate the equipment of his/her position; perform technical procedures; speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others; and exercise supervision and management skills.

Education:     
  • Must be a graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy and have a current state of Colorado Respiratory Therapist license. Must have proof of current instruction in CPR.

 Experience:   
  • Minimum of one or more years of experience preferred. Bi-lingual capabilities helpful.  New graduates are encouraged to apply.
