BACKGROUND: Since 1952, Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 2,000 people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist the more than two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job. We are looking for a patient, flexible and dedicated person to work with, train and supervise a fantastic team of adults with disabilities. Daily duties of this position is to provide top of the line services for the individuals on the team while providing quality service to the customers we provide a variety of services for. This is a hands-on position. The services that Beacon provides to our customers is dependent on the location and site needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support clients through coaching to maintain independent employment. Provides training to clients related to technical skills, work habits/behaviors and other skills needed to succeed on the job.
  • Document client performance and maintain current records in compliance with each referral source.
  • Applies patience, respect and dignity when working with clients.
  • Maintains positive approach when dealing with challenging situations.
  • Models and trains safe practices on each task.
  • Maintains regular contact with business' management.
  • Ensures that client rights are preserved.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent required for some programs.
  • Successfully pass the drug test and background check.
  • CPR/First Aid certification, or able to obtain and maintain a CPR/ First Aid Certification.
  • Fingerprint clearance card, or able to obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card.

  • Have a valid Arizona Driver's License and pass the Beacon driving test.
  • Article IX and Prevention and Support certificate or able to obtain and maintain certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a GSA clearance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to balance, bend, stand, walk, kneel, twist, stretch, climb, and sit.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to tolerate environmental conditions, such as hot, cold, wetness, dust, noise, etc.
  • Ability to work, drive and travel independently to various sites.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, clients, and the public.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to use good judgment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to learn and use equipment.
  • Ability to use power tools, equipment, and machinery.

WORK HOURS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 7am-12pm
