Position Summary:

Operating the control room, mixing, scheduling, sequencing, and micro warehouse ordering in alignment with company quality, safety, and production expectations. The position is responsible for setting production schedule, production efficiencies, ingredient monitoring, micro ingredient ordering, and keeping downstream production active. Position is responsible to ensure timely completion of orders through pelleting, bagging, and bulk loading.

Essential Functions:

  • Produce safe feed products.
  • Keep downstream production productive in a timely manner. This includes: Bagging, pelleting, and bulk deliveries.
  • Proper sequencing of feed with considerations of feed drugs and additives.
  • Maintaining a high standard of quality and applying Agfinity’s patented guidelines to provide a superior product.
  • Ensuring proper hand add ingredients are stagged and added by hand add operators.
  • Ordering of micro ingredients from warehouse in agreed upon intervals to keep production efficiently running.
  • Assigning overflow bins for bulk products when bins are full.
  • Checking the levels of flake and grind bins to determine what is needed.
  • Properly managing of bin sheet. This includes Logging bin destinations for finished feed. Removing bins from bin sheet as front office confirms the bin is empty.
  • Keep control room clean and organized.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Weigh, measure, mix product to ensure proper consistency prior to bagging.
  • Provide general upkeep to equipment to ensure optimal function.
  • Must work closely with operations manager, mill lead operator, mill personnel, and quality control. Additional interactions with fleet manager, office personnel, and maintenance personnel.

Other Duties:

  • If occasion arises where no operator is present for physically adding manual additions to mixing, the mixer operator would be required to step in to continue production.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

  • Prior feed mill and/or livestock experience.
  • Agriculture knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Computer literacy with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Position completes both automated and manual manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, lift and carry 50#, and wear necessary PPE.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring the manufacture of quality products routed to correct locations.
