MDW is seeking experienced candidates to provide Acquisition Management support to our US Navy client. The analyst must be capable of applying business process knowledge and judgment to support the various commands with the Department of Defense (DoD). This position is partially remote. Note that this position requires candidates be located within reasonable proximity to Crane, Indiana in order to support the NSWC customer with hybrid work schedules, on-site meetings and other in-person requirements.

Acquisition Management Analysts will support tasks such as assisting the government with establishing schedules and monitoring progress of procurement actions; research and analysis of procurement issues; assisting the government with data collection allowing for implementing regulatory and policy guidance; and interfacing with various organizations/customers. They will also provide daily program, analytical, and acquisition management support. This includes validating procurement forms for asset and OM&S accuracy, validating government funding, screening mandatory sources of supply, and data entry into Navy ERP. The analyst will use Microsoft (MS) Office applications such as Access databases, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint and MS Word as well as report writing software to include Business Intelligence applications. They may also be involved in various administrative tasks.

As part of a team, the analyst will have the following responsibilities:

  • Planning, Tracking and Analysis of Acquisition Requirements to include: Gathering procurement requirements from the government Requiring Technical Authority (RTA), Technical POCs, or IT in order to procure a request; Checking all vendor information for accuracy and to ensure the required mandatory sources are being screened when necessary; Tracking and reporting all updates until materials have been procured
  • Submit and track all MILSTRIP and Purchase Card requisitions to include maintaining a tracking sheet for all transactions and needed metrics for requisitions
  • Monitor and maintain Procurement Inbox
  • Provide weekly status updates of all procurements
  • Data Entry
  • Other duties as assigned by government manager

Required Experience:

  • Candidates for this position must have experience with Crane PR process and creation of PR's
  • Acquisition experience within the DoD is required
  • Prior experience with Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and or Large Contract procurement is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with preparing, understanding, and presenting data
  • Candidates should have strong computer and analytical skills; Excellent Communication Skills (Written and Verbal); Ability to work independently; Have a willingness to learn/be trainable
  • Candidate MUST be proficient in the use of Excel and other MS Office products
  • Ability to multi-task; effectively manage time, and work under firm and quick turn-around deadlines

Education Requirement/Required Years of Experience:

  • 1-3+ years professional experience in acquisition support is required
  • BA/BS degree from an accredited institution required. 4+ years' experience in acquisition management support may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Clearance Requirement(s):

  • Candidates for this position must be able to obtain a US DoD Secret Clearance (requires US Citizenship)
  • Candidates with a current Secret clearance preferred
