ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the maintenance Leads, Supervisor, Planner and Maintenance Project Manager to ensure safe and efficient results.
  • Develop metrics to gauge maintenance, reliability, and project effectiveness.
  • Oversee the coordination of maintenance and project related contractor activities.
  • Implement a mechanical and electrical training program.
  • Oversee all record keeping regarding maintenance, projects, reliability, and safety.
  • Always operate within MSHA standards and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure effective, timely and professional interactions with employees, contractors and management team on all maintenance services provided.
  • Ensure effective turnover of repaired/installed equipment to operations.
  • Develop and maintain effective professional working relationships with all stakeholders including vendors.
  • Effectively lead and participate in short- and long-term strategic planning initiatives.
  • Hold direct reports and department members accountable to safe and productive work practices as outlined within Company standards and procedures.
  • Manage departmental budgets to ensure compliance with organizational and strategic expenditure requirements.
  • Review capital improvement plans and make recommendations; evaluate infrastructure, facilities, and operating systems for repair and maintenance.
  • Review and approve job expense reports, cost sheets and inventories. You are a problem solver and continuously look for innovative solutions that can be utilized on projects.
  • Ensure deployment of key initiatives and communication of relevant messages to all maintenance crews at site
  • Provide employees with a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring the provision of safe systems of work; safe work procedures; adequate training and instruction; competent supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years in a Maintenance General Foreman level or higher experience in mining industry
  • 2+ years’ experience in compiling and/or managing maintenance budgets.
  • 2+ years management of the maintenance scheduling and workflow function
  • Experience managing or supervising an equipment reliability program.
  • A strong safety record and the ability to work with a variety of individuals.
  • Ability to adapt information and communication style to the audience.
  • Skilled at promoting teamwork to establish consensus among team and stakeholders.
  • Capable of identifying key issues and patterns in moderately complex situations and spotting new, less obvious solutions
  • Familiar with MSHA regulations.
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license.

  • Proven experience in managing multiple priorities while maintaining a safe work culture and a zero tolerance for violation of Safety protocol.

  • Work will take place in various types of manufacturing environments as well as in outdoor settings.

  • Must be able to lift, pull and push at least 50lbs.
  • Will work on very uneven surfaces which will have rock and other debris in the area.

Must be able to wear required PPE to include Steele toed boots, safety glasses and hard hat always.
