SUMMARY: This position is responsible for operating and maintaining various machines, load and unload frequently heavy materials, and follow directions from supervisors and other skilled tradesmen.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleans up and maintains safe, tidy and organized work areas.
  • Cleans up and maintains trucks and equipment, loads trucks and trailers, minimizes waste and redundancy, be proactive in recognizing and assisting on all steps of our projects, material handling.
  • Assist as a safety ambassador, hole watch.
  • Understands vac safety, set job site to complete projects safely and efficiently (hoses, pipes, fittings, safety equipment), operates nozzle end of vac hose and all duties that encompass that task, tear down and clean up vac projects
  • Understands Hydro safety, protecting surfaces not to be hydro blasted/water jetted, sets up and teardown/clean up jobs (tools, hoses and equipment), maintains safe and organized work areas, operate hydro guns and tools
  • Understands surface prep safety, masks and protects surfaces not to be blasted, pot tending (portable blasters and bulk pots), sets up jobsites including staging hoses and equipment, runs and maintains blasting hoses and equipment, solvent cleaning surfaces, pressure washing, steam cleaning, abrasive blasting, cleans up spent abrasives, cleans up and teardown and demobilization of job sites.
  • Understands coating safety, reading and comprehending Material Data Sheets, masks and protects surfaces not to be coated, setting up equipment, setting up job sites, runs and maintains hose, pot tending, mixes coatings, assists in trowel and spray operations, cleaning up painting equipment, cleans and maintains job sites, handles waste coating materials and solvents
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills required: None
  • Other skills required:
    1. Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
    2. Ability to work in all weather.
    3. Workers must be punctual and reliable.
    4. Must have experience as a general laborer in the construction industry.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; loud; very loud.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds / continually lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
