PT / TEMP HUMAN RESOURCES CLERK

 

POSITION SUMMARY:     Responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources department, to include filing, organizing, developing, and implementing programs and processes to increase overall HR effectiveness and efficiencies. This position handles all HR-related administrative tasks, maintains up-to-date employee records, and provides general support to the HR team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:   

ESSENTIAL: 

-       Maintain employee records and files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

-       Complete onboarding and offboarding processes for new and departing employees.

-       Collect and maintain employee files, such as applications, resumes, and other documents.

-       Assist with recruiting, including scheduling interviews and verifying references.

-       Perform data entry and filing of all HR related documents.

-       Manage employee attendance records and vacation requests.

-       Create and maintain all confidential employee personnel files.

-       Maintain a working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations including, but not limited to EEOC, FLSA, ADA, FMLA,              and Workers Compensation.

-       Ensure that all mandatory federal, state, and local posters/signs are current and visible.

-       Maintain and update organizational chart and job descriptions.

 

NON-ESSENTIAL:

-       Complete employee verifications via phone, email, and fax.

-       Other job duties as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIRED:

-       High school diploma or equivalent.

-       Knowledge of basic HR functions.

-       Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

-       Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

-       Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

-       Knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point), general office equipment (i.e. Phone, computer, Internet, 10           key calculators, printer, copier, etc.).

-       Open availability (depending on workload, may work late hours and Saturdays).

 

PREFERRED:

-       Previous experience in a Human Resources role.

 

SKILLS:

-       Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently and maintain confidentiality.

-       Ability to effectively communicate with current, past, and potential employees.

-       Ability to handle multiple incoming and outgoing emails and phone calls.

-       Ability to identify and solve employee issues and complaints in an effective manner.

-       Ability to plan work, prioritize, and be attentive to details.

-       Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions.

-       Ability to handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality and professionalism.
