What you will do:

Crating, uncrating, shipping & receiving of material, samples & equipment. Testing setup, testing (reading instrumentation and recording results). Sample prototype fabrication. Sample troubleshooting and repair. Test interment verification and calibrations. Equipment maintenance, repair and setup.

How you will do it:

  • Prepares plywood bulkheads and performs general carpentry and metal work.
  • Examines parts for conformance with dimensional specifications.
  • Installing samples or systems to be tested in test fixtures, connecting mechanical or electrical controls, cabling, tubing, power source, and indicating instruments.
  • Activates controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power and subject test sample to successive steps in test points or cycles.
  • Monitors controls and instruments and records test data.
  • Confers with other personnel to resolve fabrication problems relating to specifications and to review test plans such as types and cycles of tests, conditions under which tests are to be conducted, and duration of tests.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

What we look for:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Basic Math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and trigonometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word using MS Windows platform. MS Access experience a plus. MUST BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE (TESTED) THESE BASIC SKILLS - Measurements (Tape / Rule, Caliper, Micrometer & Reading Graduated Scales)

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
