Position Summary
As a Training and Development Specialist I, you will have the opportunity to work closely with teams throughout the organization to assist with all training and workforce development activities, including all staff compliance training, departmental training, interdepartmental training, and supplemental learning initiatives. This position focuses on the planning, coordination and logistical support for workforce development trainings and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience
An associate degree and 2 years of relevant professional experience
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five years of experience working in training and development
Preferred Qualifications
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
Demonstrated effective communication skills (verbal and written)
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to analyze and problem solve
Willingness to take initiative
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Publisher, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment
Self-driven with the ability to change priorities, maximize resources, meet deadlines, and successfully execute assigned tasks.
Proficiency in administering a learning management system
Experience developing or facilitating training programs
Experience administering an organization-wide training or engagement program
Experience using data analytics tools or relevant coursework related to data analytics
Job Duties
The duties of the Training and Development Specialist 1 include, but will not be limited to, the following:
Coordinates administrative and logistical duties for training sessions. This includes scheduling, booking vendors, running reports, sending reminders, troubleshooting, providing status updates, updating MyNet, and ensuring employee training records are up-to-date and accurate.
Assist with coordinating logistics for monthly training sessions, workshops, or events. This includes registration, scheduling space, classroom setup, materials requests, creation of courses and verification of attendance in our Learning Management System.
Conduct research on industry best practices and emerging trends in Training and Development. This includes benchmarking, reading industry journals, and attending conferences and external networking meetings.
Assist with managing the department’s training calendar.
Support the planning and development of strategic priorities and business initiatives.
Assist with the evaluation of training programs through developing forms, surveys, assessments, and feedback analysis using data processing or visualization tools.
Perform related duties as required.

This position is a Grade 18
Salary Range
$74,153 to $96,753
