A school district near Maple, WI is seeking a highly skilledand dedicated Occupational Therapist to join their team for the current school year. As the Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to students in grades K-12th. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive district and make a positive impact on the lives of children this school year!

Job Details:

  • Full Time 15hours per week paid.
  • Travel time is paid
  • School Year: 23/24 spring semester
  • On-site position
  • K-12th grade - 30 students, 30 minute sessions.

Job Requirements:

  • WI Occupational Therapist licensure or WI COTA licensure
  • Previous Schools Experience(Preferred)
  • Previous Pediatric Experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the specific needs of students in grades K-12 and develop individualized occupational therapy goals.
  • Design and implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions, targeting areas such as fine motor skills, sensory integration, visual motor skills, self-care, and activities of daily living.
  • Provide direct services to students either individually or in small groups, delivering therapy sessions that align with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to develop strategies that promote students' inclusion and functional skills within the classroom environment.
  • Monitor and document students' progress regularly, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are maintained in compliance with school and state regulations.
  • Actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, offering expertise and recommendations regarding students' occupational therapy needs and progress.
  • Foster effective communication with parents/guardians, providing updates on therapy goals, progress, and sharing home-based strategies to support students' functional skills.
  • Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in school-based occupational therapy, integrating this knowledge into daily practice.
  • Maintain a compassionate, patient, and flexible approach while working with children with diverse needs.
