About The Partnership To End Homelessness

The Partnership?s upstream intervention model combines housing, rental assistance and crisis services with mental health, support and education programming to prevent people from losing their homes. Our services are available to New Yorkers of any ability, age, family type, gender, national origin, race and sexual orientation who are at risk of, experiencing or recovering from homelessness.

 

The Opportunity

Position Overview

Reporting to the VP, Programs (CPO), the Director of Health and Well-Being will direct the health and emotional well-being programs in accordance with The Partnership?s mission, values and strategic objectives. Specifically, the Director will manage our Health and Well-being Team to ensure accountability and excellent client service with timely and accurate reporting, while also building a robust network of community, academic and government partners to ensure a strong and mutual referral system to meet our client needs. A knowledge-driven and critical thinker with superb organizational skills, the Director is a compassionate leader, has sound judgment and can easily adapt to differing needs of the program. The position is integral to building a coordinated and knowledgeable team finely attuned to client mental health and well-being needs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Direct the mental health and emotional well-being programs of The Partnership;
  • Hire, train and supervise the Health and Well-being Team, ensuring accountability, excellent client service and timely and accurate reports for internal reporting, grant reporting, communications and development purposes;
  • Oversee initial needs assessment and service planning process for clients including management of the new client registration process;
  • Collaborate with the Housing and Crisis team to provide a holistic plan for clients seeking financial support with the goal of reducing future needs regarding rental arrears;
  • Provide mental health policy and service expertise to the entire Partnership team, ensure a trauma-informed environment for all client services, manage case conferencing, ensure client documentation is accurate and adheres to organizational guidelines;  
  • Provide individual counseling and group level supportive counseling for clients as needed; 
  • Build and maintain robust network of community, academic and government partners to ensure a strong and mutual referral system for clients, leverage new research and studies to enhance client services;
  • Track and report client services, monitoring service efficiency and effectiveness, and identify and describe trends and emerging issues;
  • Participate in government hearings and community forums in addition to serving as a spokesperson for the organization; 
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master?s Degree in Social Work, psychology or related discipline, along with 7+ years of experience and licensed as a therapist;
  • An understanding of mental health and well-being services and an appreciation of mental and emotional health and education systems for The Partnership?s clients;
  • Continuously compassionate and empathetic with an interest in ensuring a positive and caring environment for all clients;
  • Experienced in managing teams in setting and achieving goals as well as a demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and partnerships in the health and well-being sector;
  • Successful project management experience from concept through execution and evaluation with a focus on meeting or exceeding deliverables and adhering to strict deadlines;
  • Demonstrated ability and experience working with diverse teams and stakeholders and commitment to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills and demonstrated proficiency in MS Office software; 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment with a low to moderate noise level; routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras, photocopiers/scanners and filing cabinets; is required to travel to external meetings, and be able to work evenings and weekends, as needed; and, frequently focus for long periods of time.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; maintain a stationary position for long periods of time; use hands and fingers to operate objects, tools or controls such as phones, computers and office equipment and accessories; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear and exchange accurate information via in-person, electronic, telephonic, virtual and written communications. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
