Clinical Psychologist for Mental Health Clinic, Beale Air Force Base

Full-time, M-F, 730am-430pm; 40hrs per week

The Clinical Psychologist will be an essential member of our team at the 9th Medical Group located at Beale Air Force Base, CA. In this position, you will be responsible for implementing evidence-based treatment modalities to address a variety of mental health issues. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will conduct independent assessments of patients and their family members' psychosocial functioning and needs, followed by the formulation and implementation of appropriate treatment plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

Education: Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.

Internship/Residency: Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association.

Clinical Psychologist must have experience in utilizing evidenced-based treatment modalities (ex: CBT, DBT, MI, CPT, PE, ACT) to treat a variety of mental health issues.

Must be trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy or Prolonged Exposure therapy due to high population with PTSD or able to obtain within first 3 months

Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.
  • Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
  • Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.
  • Assist in the rehabilitation of patients.
  • Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Participate in weekly case consultations;
  • Implement evidence-based treatment modalities to treat a variety of mental health issues;
  • Participate in professional peer review, case conferences, research studies, or other organizations required at the MTF;
  • Independently assess the psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and their family members and formulate and implement a treatment plan;
  • Provide consultation services to other staff about the psychosocial needs of patients and the impact of psychosocial problems on health care and compliance with treatment;
  • Coordinate appropriate referrals to community and other Government agencies for services; g. Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board;
  • Assist Alcohol and Drug Abuse and Prevention Treatment Program in assessment, intervention, treatment, and prevention of substance use disorders.
