POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Warehouse Clerk controls and coordinates the inbound / outbound shipments of finished goods between manufacturing, facilities, warehouse and customer sites, both domestically and internationally. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verifies shipping information by comparing shipping documents against received orders.
  • Coordinates the shipment of inventory from manufacturing facilities to public warehouses.
  • Audits shipping documents to confirm inbound/outbound status, including following-up with manufacturing facilities to trace outstanding shipments.
  • Prepares documentation to support Canadian shipments to U.S. customers and public warehouse. 
  • Weekly, audits received billings by company to storage and handling contracts to ensure correct charges; and communicates results to Accounts Payable to expedite payments.
  • Complies and reviews inventory problems with Manufacturing Plants, Customer Service, Sales and public warehouses in order to resolve problem areas.
  • Reconciles book inventory from the warehouse with the Company’s cycle count report, monthly.
  • Reviews storage and handling of billings from public warehouses to ensure correct changes; communicates results to Accounts Payable to expedite payments.
  • Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required such as completing various warehousing reports and coordinating customer returns.

  • Attention to detail
  • Good administrative, analytical, mathematical, organizational and oral communication skills are required.
  • A working knowledge of warehousing and transportation procedures, practices, methods and terminology.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office and warehouse environments.  Occasional overtime and some interstate travel may be required.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, bend, squat, kneel, stoop, talk, hear, and withstand frequent repetitive motion, heavy lifting, have visual acuity, and good finger dexterity.
