Laboratory CAD Designer

Nycom is a 40 year old company focused on “Excellence and Customer Allegiance”. With offices throughout the Southeast, our specialty is interior construction involving laboratory casework (furniture), exhaust hoods and equipment for clients in the Educational, Industrial, Research and Healthcare markets.

We are looking for a talented CAD Designer/Drafter interested in joining our engineering team. Opportunities are available to work in one of our primary offices in Morrisville, NC, Midlothian, VA, or Acworth GA or to work remotely from home.

This candidate will be responsible for using AutoCAD to generate shop drawings per construction documents for Submittal, Order, and Installation and/or sales drawings based on sketches and direction from the sales team.

Our CAD Designer/Drafters are also responsible for taking the shop drawings and importing them into our ordering system and preparing the project for order. Candidate will be interacting with Sales, Estimating, and Project Management departments to create fast and accurate shop drawings with critical deadlines.

A pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check will be a requirement to starting employment.

· The candidate must have advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Version 2022 or newer and Microsoft Office 365. Knowledge of Revit is a plus but not required.

· The candidate must be able to read and understand Architectural drawings with some knowledge of MEP drawings. Candidate must have strong Architectural AutoCAD skills.

· Lab Casework design, Furniture design and/or Interior design experience is a plus, but not required.

· This skilled professional must be effective in meeting deadlines, solving problems, and multi-tasking.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and time management skills are also required for the position.

· The candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. This is a very detail-oriented job.
