About the position:

Behavior Technicians are paraprofessionals that care for children with a wide range of behavioral challenges and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other health professionals. They assist in the implementation of care plans and work with children one-on-one in clinics, hospitals, schools, mental health facilities, or their own homes.

BTs use techniques to make life improvements for children. They facilitate behavior change by modifying maladaptive behaviors and replacing them with appropriate behaviors.

BTs are expected to teach and help to promote language, behavioral, social, and daily living skills in a fun, play setting to increase motivation and positive performance for the patient.

BTs are required to collect and accurately record data on the patient's progress as it relates to the patient’s treatment plan.

Responsibilities:

As a Behavior Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:

- Implementing behavior intervention plans developed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)

- Collecting and recording data on client progress

- Assisting with the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans

- Collaborating with the treatment team to ensure effective communication and coordination of services

- Providing support and guidance to clients and their families

- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)

- Experience working with individuals with autism or related developmental disabilities

- Knowledge of ABA principles and techniques

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Reliable transportation, auto insurance, and valid driver's license

-Ability to interact with children( i.e. running and implementing physical intervention and strategies)

-Comfortable working with children who display behavior problems

-2 years experience working with children
