Dietitian Nutritionist - Full-time

Unit Description:

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian for Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home, located in Jamaica, NY. This dietitian will provide nutritional care to long-term care residents and sub-acute rehabilitation patients.  This 228 bed state of the art, modern, long term care facility was re-built just 15 years ago.  US News rates Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home as High, among the “Best Nursing Homes”!

 

Start with 3 weeks’ vacation and 3 personal days-No Wait Period!
Reimbursement for AND dues, state licensure fees and CDR renewal!
Money toward continuing education events!
Up to $5000 tuition reimbursement annually!

The successful candidate will:

• work as part of a 3-RD team with rotating weekend coverage (flexibility to choose either Saturday or Sunday);
• provide nutritional care to the long-term care residents and sub-acute rehab patients;
• complete quality assurance and performance improvement projects;
• have a passion for driving and improving the resident experience;
• meet DOH/state/federal and company standards;
• be an active member of the interdisciplinary care conferences;
• represent the Food & Nutrition Department as a liaison with the medical and nursing staff; and
• mentor dietetic interns.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) (Note: For those seeking registration after 2023, a master’s degree will be required)

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision

 

Credentials Requirement:

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice
• Specialty credential in area(s) of focused practice, as applicable, or advanced practice certification (RD-AP/RDN-AP)
