Leidos is searching for a highly motivated Cyber Security Lead to support the U.S. Census Bureau customer on a highly visible cloud modernization contract. The Civil IT Leidos team will own the Cyber scope on this contract and will ultimately be responsible for the securing of applications and infrastructure in a hybrid (cloud and on-premise) environment, and mitigating cybersecurity risks. This position will be based in Suitland, MD but will have the benefit of a hybrid work arrangement.

The Cyber Security Lead will oversee the Security Engineering organization and drive their day-to-day activities developing processes, tools and technologies to mitigate cyber threats. They will also provide technical, managerial, and administrative direction for problem definition, analysis, requirements development and implementation for complex to extremely complex systems within on premise and cloud infrastructure.

The Cyber Security Lead responsibilities will also include addressing policy and regulations such as NIST and FIPS, developing and applying governance processes, procedures, and KPIs to accelerate RMF and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities, and continuous monitoring.  In addition to having a thorough understanding of Cybersecurity, the ideal candidate will have a range of experience including Zero Trust, Agile Security Engineering and Cloud/Container Architecture; and will have excellent communication skills with the ability to communication and collaborate across various functional teams and at various levels to achieve project/organizational objectives.  Additional responsibilities may include:

THE ROLE:

  • Maintain current working knowledge of IT development methodology, architecture design, security best practices, technical standards, security breaches and known impacts.

  • Communicate with other technical leads, IT groups, and customer reps and assist them in understanding all aspects of proposed changes/solutions.

  • Provide follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken) for Root Cause analysis, engineering technical assessment and process improvement initiatives.

  • Develop and execute penetration testing programs, simulating attacks to identify vulnerabilities before they can be exploited.

  • Develop security standards and best practices for complex applications and systems.

  • Provide recommendations on security enhancements to various levels of leadership including executives.

WHAT SETS YOU APART:

  • Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related field and a minimum of 12+ years of prior relevant experience with a focus on cybersecurity or software development; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Familiarity with multiple cloud service providers (AWS, Azure).

  • Experience monitoring and audit of system and processes such and identify and access management which may include methodologies like Zero Trust Security.

  • Experience in Authentication and Authorization.

  • Must possess two of the following certifications: CISSP, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, or GISP

  • Must possess one of the following certifications: CAP, PMP, or Agile.

  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder who has resided in the U.S. for at least 3 years and the ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Software Development/Web Application Development

  • Experience in Integration & Test

  • Cloud DevOps Experience

Pay Range:Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
