Job Description: This role will be reporting to the Director of the Institute for Social and Health Equity (ISHE).The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the financial and human resources support functions within a high-performing, professional research led Institute. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage project position recruitment requests, appointments, promotions, and reclassifications, leave requests, and separations of employees ensuring accuracy of materials and adherence to University and Research Foundation policies. Ensure projects are aligned with the funder's guidelines and reporting requirements. Work with Pre-Award Office to seek permission from the funder for any adjustments to the grant. Provide Project Directors with project and budgetary support to facilitate transparency of financial matters throughout the grant's duration. Process project staff changes, revisions, updates, and sponsor notifications as needed. Actively participate in the search process and the review of applicants for Institute vacancies, including use of the campus's applicant tracking system. Develop and implement processes to streamline and improve human resources and fiscal functions. Supervise the review, monitoring and processing of expenditures by workplan. Oversee all aspects of project purchase requisitions, travel reimbursements and policies, including staff training, travel information dissemination, updating of forms and procedures, and follow-up on travel reimbursements. Support project budget modifications, particularly personnel modifications as necessary. Serve as liaison with project staff, Research Foundation and University offices and sponsor representatives for human resources and fiscal matters. Prepare reports and gather data as requested to support project activities. Provide supervision, coaching, mentoring and training for professional and project support staff. Other duties as assigned to accomplish project/workplan activities. *This is a part time, 20 hours per week position with the potential to increase to full-time based on future requirements of the Institute.* Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization. Some relevant experience in human resources management. Two to three years' experience in financial oversight and analysis. Strong leadership skills with supervisory experience. Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Strong commitment to excellent customer service, maintaining confidentiality and modeling professionalism. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent ability to demonstrate initiative and work both independently and as part of a team with minimal task by task supervision. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization with a concentration in finance, business administration, management 01· a related field. Experience working in a continuing education or other educational environment. Experience working for the Research Foundation, UAlbany or SUNY.
