This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a DWTSurge Recruiter to join our team. This position offers the flexibility to be fully remote while working within reasonable commuting distance from our Seattle, Bellevue, Portland, Los Angeles, or San Francisco office.
The DWTSurge Recruiter will work closely with the DWTSurge Program Director to manage full-cycle recruiting for DWTSurge, an innovative alternative legal staffing program at Davis Wright Tremaine.

DWTSurge is an alternative-track attorney and legal staff program built and managed by Davis Wright Tremaine LLP to offer unique, flexible opportunities with the support and resources of a large law firm.

The program is growing rapidly to service various clients and practice groups at the firm and offers an opportunity to be part of an entrepreneurial and rapidly-evolving new business line within an established law firm setting.

On a typical day you will:
  • Develop, own, and execute on specific recruitment plans for assigned staffing requests, under the supervision of the DWTSurge Program Director
  • Build and maintain a strong, diverse pipeline of highly qualified attorney and legal staff candidates
  • Source candidates, review applications, conduct candidate interviews, and discuss position requirements with candidate
  • Schedule candidate interviews with hiring managers and communicate from hiring managers on next steps
  • Source new candidates, assess existing candidates, and explore referred candidates for open positions, and for future needs that may develop
  • Provide candidate recommendations to the DWTSurge Program Director and requesting DWT attorneys
  • Gather, synthesize, and analyze interview feedback and data to iterate on candidate identification and vetting practices
  • Conduct reference checks, confirm candidate credentials, and gather additional information about candidates as requested by hiring managers
  • Manage the development and implementation of objective skills tests for candidates and gathering practice group feedback on results
  • Conduct rate discussions and negotiations with candidates with strong attention to the budgeting requirements of the Firm, the client, and the specific project
  • Draft and manage job postings for all open positions
  • Provide consultative information to hiring managers on candidate market trends and rates
  • Support the development of the Surge recruiting page and additional candidate resource materials
  • Manage external-facing content related to the Surge Program, as well as Surge Program information on external and internal sites
  • Track key staffing metrics and generate relevant reports regarding geographic markets, market rates for candidates, etc.
  • Strategically build and maintain a pipeline of candidates in advance of requests for Surge solutions and client secondments
  • Manage next steps for all internal and external candidate referrals
  • Innovate on current alternative staffing sourcing methods
  • Support other Surge Program team members as needed, including assisting with candidate onboarding, Surge attorney professional development, evaluation tracking, and utilization tracking
DWTSurge Marketing and Outreach to Talent
  • Assist in the development and management of the DWTSurge recruiting site
  • Manage the Program's collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team on recruiting events and with the Firm's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion recruiting initiatives
  • Manage and maintain connections with candidate network
  • Proactively market the Program and develop connections with relevant legal associations, professional groups, law school alumni groups, and more
  • Own the development and implementation of a communication strategy with candidate network
  • Support the development of and manage the administrative needs of candidate referral programs

Join us if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years' experience, or equivalent demonstrated experience in full-cycle recruiting, required. Experience in a law firm or other professional services organization is a plus
  • An interest in learning more about different practice areas in the legal industry, law firm operations, and evolving ways of serving clients
  • 2+ years of sourcing experience utilizing a variety of tools such as social media and Boolean searches
  • Strong interview abilities and excellent communications skills; experience establishing and maintaining connections with candidates
  • Demonstrated interest in participating in candidate outreach events and marketing efforts
  • Proven experience managing and prioritizing multiple searches, projects and client relationships with expert customer relationship skills
  • Prior Applicant Tracking System/ Contact Management System experience for sourcing, tracking and managing candidates required
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of a professional services organization are required
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise good judgment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks in accordance with moving project timelines
  • Ability to work independently as well as in team settings
  • Ability to produce polished work product and effectively communicate with high-level stakeholders
  • Strong troubleshooting, decision-making, follow-up, follow-through, and priority setting skills are required; demonstrated ability to practice good judgment
  • Proficient in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel as necessary to support face-to-face meetings (e.g. office visits or attendance at regional or local office meetings)

Washington State
The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $90,000 to $100,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program. For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly. Additional voluntary programs include: voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs are also available.
California
The annualized salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $90,000 to $100,000; and in San Francsico is $105,000 to $115,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.
