Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Willdan is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our innovative and creative team. We focus on the implementation of commercial new construction utility programs around the country. We're looking for a Business Development Manager who can grow our new construction utility consulting business by developing, managing, and growing a pipeline of program opportunities with electric and gas utility companies. Ultimately, the Business Development Manager carries a revenue responsibility and is charged with increasing the company's annual recurring revenue. Success in this role will contribute to real, measurable cost savings for our clients and has the potential to make a meaningful impact towards carbon emissions reduction across the US.

  • Develop and implement a solid sales strategy.
  • Successfully hand-off new customers to operations team.
  • Remain educated on the evolving utility and energy landscape.
  • Utilize HubSpot, proposal tools, and other sales tools.
  • Travel up to 33% of the time.
  • Be proactive, dedicated, diligent, highly self-motivated, and well-organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Be able to effectively communicate, influence, and motivate at all levels of the organization.
  • Have strong critical thinking skills and a positive attitude.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in communications, marketing, business engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years' experience working with utilities on energy efficiency or demand side management offerings.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales and revenue targets.
  • Experience working with RFP sales cycles.
  • History of getting immediate results while building repeatable processes.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and HubSpot or other CRM.
