This position will be providing information technology support to Detachment 1, 413th Flight Test Squadron, located at Nellis AFB, NV.

Works as a member of an integrated product team to develop and test new and existing capabilities for the US Air Force Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) Combined Test Force (CTF). This position requires an individual with motivation and initiative to support developmental flight testing in a dynamic high tempo environment.

Essential Job Functions:

This position supports the 413th Flight Test Squadron (413 FLTS) by providing Information Technology (IT) systems support. Areas of responsibility include the following:

  • This position serves as a privileged access user on Classified DOD Information systems and networks within the 413 FLTS.
  • Privileged Access user maintaining the network connectivity, applying system updates and virus definitions, fixing computer systems, and troubleshooting user problems.
  • Act as a Computer System Administrator on unclassified and classified network systems.
  • Responsible for creating and managing user accounts within the network environment.
  • Responsibilities include the accountability of computer equipment assigned to the unit.
  • Install and configure software applications and updates on network and laptop systems.
  • Implement Information Assurance compliance measures on information systems.
  • Assists squadron Information System Security Manager (ISSM) applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to non-NIPR, stand-alone networks in the performance of data and instrumentation analysis.
  • Manage information systems to include system upgrades and replacement of obsolete equipment.
  • Assist with defining IT requirements and researching equipment purchases.
  • Travel to offsite locations as required and other duties as assigned.
  • Assists deployed personnel with information technology support needs.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the TMAS Task Lead, within the limits of the current TMAS Performance Work Statement.
  • Travel expected to be less than 5% of task.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience is required.

Active Secret Clearance.

This skill level typically performs all functional duties independently. Must be a self-motivated expert able to take responsibility for identifying, organizing, coordinating, and executing necessary tasks to the successful accomplishment of assigned duties.

Privileged access requires proper IT certifications IAW DoD8570.01M.

A current CompTIA Security+ certification is required.

Experience with Air Force Standard Desktop configured workstations is required.

Must be proficient with the Windows OS networking environment and Microsoft Office applications.

Must be able to install and configure software applications and updates.

Must be able to manage client accounts and permissions.

Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Must be able to work independently and as part of an integrated team.

DoD Niprnet and Siprnet administration experience is highly desired.

Desired Skills:

Experience working with printer contracts and vendors in highly desired.
