Leidos is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the Defensive Cyber Subject Matter Expert position for the Integrated Defensive Cyber Systems Contract. This position is located near Lackland Air Force Base; all work is onsite.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all matters related to defensive cyber operations within the project management office (PMO). Provide expertise, guidance, and support on defensive cyber strategies, technologies, and best practices.
  • Lead the development and refinement of new checklists, tactics, techniques, and procedures to enhance the defensive cyber capabilities established by the PMO. This includes creating comprehensive documentation that outlines actionable steps and protocols for mitigating cyber threats.
  • Execute all assigned tasks independently, demonstrating self-reliance and initiative in accomplishing objectives related to defensive cyber operations. This entails taking ownership of projects from inception to completion while adhering to established timelines and quality standards.
  • Engage in Agile Software Development SCRUM sessions to provide valuable operator feedback to software developers. Offer insights, suggestions, and requirements from a defensive cyber perspective to ensure that software solutions effectively address operational needs and security considerations.
  • Interface with airmen to gather requests and requirements related to defensive cyber capabilities. Collaborate with engineers to translate these needs into specific technical requirements, ensuring alignment with project objectives and feasibility within technical constraints.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires BS and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience; additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree. 
  • Former experience with DoD defensive cyber (Cyber Protection teams, CSSPs, etc)
  • Experience with Air Force Technical Order formatting, ServiceNow Knowledge base articles, SharePoint Wiki’s
  • Proficient in utilizing the MS Office suite for various tasks, including document creation, data analysis, and presentations.
  • Experienced in navigating and utilizing Jira and Confluence for project management and collaboration purposes.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with customers, addressing their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Strong aptitude for conducting thorough research, making informed decisions, and organizing information efficiently.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of analyzing complex situations, evaluating options, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Must possess an active Secret clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered. 
  • Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within 90 days.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI preferred
  • Current IAT level II or higher certification or ability to obtain certification within
  • Previous CYBERCOM defensive cyber certification

Pay Range:Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
